And another:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

SOUND AND FURY RELEASE TWO VIDEOS VIA YOU TUBE AND PREP DEBUT RELEASE FOR JUNE 24TH, 2008 RELEASE

Toronto Canada's SOUND AND FURY has released two live videos for
"Supercharged http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8UWaxYJSBc and "I've Got Rabies" online here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCG7acNYjV4. Both tracks are taken from the group's forthcoming self-titled debut, which hits stores on June 24th via Rebel Youth Records/MRI-RED Distribution.

"The videos were shot at various shows on the UK tour. The crowds were
awesome, as every show was a rampage from the moment we started the set,"
says frontman Luke Metcalf of the creation of the video. "I wrote the
"Supercharged" music and some of the lyrics for the song one day after I got
incredibly high and went and lay down on the side of a hill during an amazing thunder storm in Toronto last summer. For about two hours I watched hundreds and hundreds of lightning bolts ripping across the sky above and
around me."

SOUND AND FURY is all about power chords and no-bullshit rock 'n roll--an
all out sonic assault on the ears of their enthusiastic fans. Founded by
frontman Luke Metcalf with the desire to create stripped-down, straight-up
whiskey drinking rock n' roll, the band includes guitarists Daz and Griffin,
ex- Age of Electric bassist John Kerns, and drummer Chris Avalos.

In addition to perfectly capturing their raw rock n' roll power on the album, the group has been gaining fans by the truckload by opening up for Canada's leading pop-punk band, Sum 41, in the great white north and the U.K.

The L.A. GUNS version featuring guitarist Tracii Guns has parted ways with vocalist Paul Black. An as-yet-undisclosed replacement singer with "blond" hair has already been found and will be officially announced soon. The band has also enlisted a new guitarist, Alec "Big Al" Bauer.

L.A. Guns recently spent time at a Canadian studio recording its new album, tentatively titled Pretty In Black, with producer Steve Thompson.

On the topic of whether the new CD recordings will be scrapped now that Paul Black has been dismissed from the group, Tracii said, "I have a singer up here that actually wrote most of the new songs. He was just supposed to help but, now he's gonna have to sing as well. At least I can now guarentee the record will sound amazing… FOR REAL!"

Paul Black reportedly co-wrote most of L.A. Guns' fan favorites from the band's classic self-titled debut album for Polygram Records. The group (with Paul Black on vocals) released a CD titled The Black List in 2006, which was a collection of previously unreleased recordings of L.A. Guns standards from 1986 and 1987.

<----And so on and so forth. Well, wonder how Tracii will spin this now, since he can no longer say that his band is the "original L.A. Guns," since Black was the only other "original" member, if you want to call him that. Aside from that, the guy was completely full of shit, claiming he actually owns a stake in the band's name, and he and Tracii and the other original members (neither of whom are in any version now) just let Phil Lewis nd Steve Riley continue on out of the goodness of their hearts. Reality: Tracii and Steve each own 50%, so neither can do anything about the other.

So there's a new list on Rolling Stone's site. The Top 100 GUitar Songs Of All Time. As with all of RS's lists, it's a joke. There were the usual '60's relics, adn then a bunch of Gen-X college-rock crap. And of course Nirvana made the top 10. And the fucking White Stripes came in at #21. The metal songs were as follows: "Eruption" (#6), "Black Sabbath" (#18 or so), "Back In Black" (#30 or so), "Master Of Puppets" (#34), "Panama" (#46 or so) and "Sweet Child O' Mine" (#63). That's it. Unless you wanted to count Joan Jett, and in tha tcase "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" came it at around #80.

I forgot. "Walk This Way" was on there too, somewhere in the 30's. I guess I shouldn't be surprised or pissed off about these lists from this shitbag rag anymore, but dammit, I do!

I'm surprised they didn't have someone who played on a Britney or Justin song on that list, the way the magazine fawns on them, even after Britney has turned into Miss Crazy Lady . I don't think Rolling Stone has been relevant for quite some time, aside from trying to be in the '90s, when it was slobbering all over Kurt Go-Bang. But then again, so was everyone else.

I forgot, "Crazy Train" was somewhere in the 50's, and if you count Rage Against The Machine, one of their songs was somewhere as well. But really, these days, they don't seem to be so much about the teenybopper stuff as they are teh "indie-rock." Shit, they might as well just change their name to CMJ, since all they talk about anymore is a bunch of college-rock crap. I never could get into that stuff, not just from the music, but the whole "clique of dorks pretending to be cool by embracing their uncoolness" thing.

Hey, I appreciate all the activity here! I'm going to eventually put a note in the "News" section on the main page to just come here for news. There's not enough activity on that one to keep looking for stuff. PLus, it's actually better here because it's always things that interests someone to start with.

L.A. GUNS, featuring guitarist Tracii Guns, has some big news heading into their Summer Blackout Tour 2008.

The band will be hitting the road this month with a couple of new members on board. In addition to Tracii Guns on lead guitar, Jeremy Guns will be on bass along with Chad Stewart on drums, and the band has enlisted new rhythm guitar player Alec “Big Al” Bauer, who has been touring with the band since 2007.

Marty Casey, the “new blonde guy,” as the band has affectionately referred to him on their website, is the new voice of L.A. Guns. Casey gained recognition as a vocalist along with millions of fans during his run on the hit CBS show Rock Star: INXS. He was also instrumental in writing and creating new material on the upcoming L.A. Guns album.

The boys of L.A. Guns have another “big gun” in their pocket. The band is currently in Canada recording their new album with multi-Grammy award winning producer Steve Thompson. Tracii describes the album by saying, “this definitely will not be your father’s L.A. Guns” and the music is “slightly more advanced” and the lyrics are “more introspective, without losing the fun nature of our Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

L.A. Guns is currently signed with Alexus Records. Look for these guys on tour this summer with FASTER PUSSYCAT and BANG TANGO as they blaze a trail through a city near you.

Tour dates:

June
27 - Green Bay, WI - Club Toxic
28 - Sault Sainte Marie, ON - Runway Park

July
3 - San Juan, Puerto Rico - Hard Rock Live
5 - Sarasota, FL - Muscle Fairgrounds
10 - Pryor, OK - Rocklahoma
11 - Dallas, TX - Firewater Outdoors
12 - Boerne, TX - South Texas Rock Fest.
13 - Houston, TX - Meridian
14 - Texarkana, AR - Shooters Sports Bar
17 - Raleigh, NC - Volume 11
18 - Johnson City, TN - Nashville Station
19 - Springfield, VA - Jaxx
23 - Schaumburg, IL - Chicago City Limits
24 - Green Bay, WI - Club Toxic
25 - St. Paul, MN - Station 4

<----Great, you've got a reality show reject in the band now, huh? Well, at this rate, the other band has more "classic members" than you ... oh wait, they always have. Expect Tracii's new record to sound like amixed-up mess of punk and "modern-rock."

Actually, Marty Casey is pretty talented, so he's taking a step down by doing this. I thought he had his own band, so I'm surprised he's doing this. His own band would probably end up doing better in the long run.

Tracii must have promised him something...something he's not going to be able to deliver.

Notice how it's Tracii who can't seem to keep a band together, and meanwhile the other version seems pretty stable.

LONDON (AP) - Ozzy Osbourne has accepted undisclosed libel damages and an apology over a newspaper claim that he was ill at the Brit Awards.

The 59-year-old rocker sued over a story in the Daily Star that alleged he had toppled over twice just before the televised ceremony and that he was moved around the awards in an electric buggy.

Osbourne's lawyer, John Kelly, told a court in London on Thursday that none of the allegations were put to Osbourne or his representatives before they were published.

Express Newspapers' lawyer Kate Wilson said the publisher now accepts that the allegations were untrue.

WANT A FREE LAWN TICKET TO SEE JUDAS PRIESTS METAL MASTERS TOUR? YOU MAY BE IN LUCK!

Yes, you did indeed read that right. While supplies last, when you purchase any configuration (regular cd edition, limited edition-deluxe hard-bound version and limited edition deluxe box ( 3LP's, 2 CD, book and poster) available only at Best Buy) of the initial pressing of Judas Priests double disc concept album, Nostradamus (release date June 17th), specially marked CDs will contain an insert with a exclusive code inside the CD package for one free lawn ticket to see Judas Priest on selected dates of the Metal Masters tour this summer, courtesy of Live Nation (see below for a complete list). Visit www.judaspriest.com for details on this special offer. This seemingly too-good-to-be-true offer will be good while supplies last. Also, this offer will not pertain to all the dates of the Metal Masters tour (see below for complete list of dates that the offer is good for).

The Metal Masters tour will undoubtedly be the top metal concert attraction of the summer. In addition to a headlining performance by Judas Priest, fans will also be treated to sets by Heaven & Hell, Motorhead, and Testament. As ever, we look forward to screaming out loud with our metal maniac fans when we hit the road, enthuses Priest singer, Rob Halford. The Priest is back!

The tour, produced by Live Nation, will be Priests first thorough sets of U.S. dates in nearly three years, and will be in support of the groups aforementioned Nostradamus release. Long in the works, Nostradamus was recorded in the UK, and takes epic storytelling to a whole new level, as it recounts the life of this mysterious, world-known 16th century French prophet.
Some of the events that Nostradamus experts have interpreted as some of his predictions include the great fire of London in 1666, the rise of Adolf Hitler, and most recently, 9-11, among countless other renowned events.

For me, Nostradamus has been a musical journey without comparison, adds guitarist KK Downing. The intrigue and mystery that surrounds this revered man has expanded my perception of heavy metal to the highest plateau and enabled me to reach the outer limits of my imagination and transport unique feelings and emotions to the instrument that allows me to express myself.

Praiseworthy advance reviews of Nostradamus have only caused the buzz to grow around Priests 16th studio release overall. Case in point, a review by Eddie Trunk (host of the syndicated radio show Eddie Trunk Rocks, in which he raved, Priest touches on so much new ground and really pushed the envelope on some things.

The album takes you on a nearly two-hour journey. It is without a doubt best looked at as a complete work as all true concept albums are. You can really see it living out on a stage. It sounds like Priest have truly created something special and once again lived up to their rightful billing as Metal Gods.

As to why they chose to make a concept album about Nostradamus, Glenn Tipton explains: We didn't - he chose us. We feel it was meant to be!

Soon, the Metal Gods will be destroying a concert stage near you.

Tickets for all shows on sale now at www.livenation.com.

The following report is courtesy of Theweekdaily.com:

Veteran rockers AC/DC have agreed to sell their next album exclusively through Wal-Mart stores in the US, according to the Wall Street Journal, and the news is eliciting strong reactions from critics and fans. The legendary hard rock group’s as-of-yet unnamed album - their first since 2000’s Stiff Upper Lip - is scheduled for release this fall.

"This is unbelievable," said Mark Caro in the Chicago Tribune’s blog Pop Machine. “The classic headbangers’ new album won’t be available at any sort of rock music store, but you can pick it up along with a box of Huggies?” Maybe this has more to do with the “death of the record store” than it does AC/DC, but still, it’s hard not to think that the band “has sold its twisted soul.”

This actually shows “forward thinking” on AC/DC’s part, said Andrew Winistorfer in the blog PrefixMag.com, and they're not the first band to do it: “JOURNEY and GARTH BROOKS have reportedly reached a deal to distribute their new albums exclusively through Wal-Mart.” And it worked out pretty well for THE AGLES - their “Wal-Mart only album” has sold “nearly 3 million copies since last summer.”

But AC/DC obviously doesn’t care about their younger fans, said the blog TheLefsetzLetter. They are “the biggest band still alive in the minds of teenagers,” but are kids really going to go to Wal-Mart to buy the new album? “The closest Wal-Mart to me is almost twenty miles away!” And the fact that AC/DC is one of the few bands that still “doesn’t offer its catalog on iTunes” makes the whole situation that much more frustrating.
<----I dunno about that last part. I think more people live closer to a Wal-Mart than they do to an FYE or Sam Goody. I used to buy a lot of CD's at Wally World, adn tapes before that. I don't anymore, since I don't want to feed the machine, adn don't want to encourage their censorship policies. Oh yeah, adn their selection sucks. What else is new? Well, all right, I bought a Shadows Fall CD there a few years ago for $9, and wasn't the least bit sorry.

And it's safe to say Wal-Mart has worn out its welcome in my town. It was hailed as "the biggest event in fifty years in western Sussex County" by the mayor when it opened in '97, but now, people avoid the place. It's such a hassle to shop there, people get their groceries at Food Lion and pay more, just for the convenience of avoiding Wal-Mart on the weekend. Or "Mexi-Mart," as some call it.
As for AC/DC, they can do what they want. There's nothing rebellious or dangerous about those guys anymore. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE their old stuff, and nothing says "rock 'n' roll" quite like AC/DC does. I hope the new album is good, but I don't hold out a whole lot of hope.

I understand that technology has really killed sales of CDs, but I truly believe that if they priced CDs more reasonable they'd sale a ton more.

They probably would. I still would much rather have an official copy of a CD, rather than files on the computer or a CD-R. But I just don't have the money to buy every CD I want, so there ya go. The industry has really fucked themselves by finding every other way possible to address the issue except pricing CD's more reasonably (although they did make a half-hearted try at it, and you can get older releases for under $10 a lot of times anymore). And then by not developing artists, and being out fo rthe quick, big hit, drop 'em if they don't sell and move onto the next one.

Virginia-based metallers BULLISTIC have issued the following update:

"Bullistic is proud to announce that Johnny Throckmorton (ex-ALABAMA THUNDERPUSSY) will be the new lead singer of the band!

Johnny brings a wealth of talent and experience to the band and we're excited to have him in the band."

<----Remember these guys, D-Day? You got their CD as a promo, laughed at how they sounded just like Godsmack and sent it to me, and I was so bored I couldn't review it. Ultra-generic "beer metal," a la a fourth-rate BLS.

I'm still wondering about that Priest deal on the CD's. If the price is right then it would be well worth it to get lawn seats. I really think that the band lineup for that tour is way better than most tours would be this year. At least for the old folks like me. hahaha
judas priest, Heaven & Hell, Motorhead and Testament?? Damn....
I may need to make the trip for the Bristow show.

I've been thinking the same thing, D-Day. So I'd get a ticket and a double-disc concept album I wouldn't listen to but a couple times, for what, $20? I could see Testament! Motorhead! Sabbath! Even stick around and see if Priest is going to play the whole thing. Dammit! It's tempting!

BW&BK has received the following notification:

"It's with unbelievably deep regret that I must announce that CINDERELLA's Tom Keifer's left vocal cord has hemorrhaged, thereby making it impossible for him to sing in the immediate future.

Tom felt his throat give way last night (June 11th) finishing the set in pre-production rehearsals, went to his vocal doctor (Dr. Stephen Mitchell) in Nashville this morning, and was told the grim news. In the short term, Tom's doctor told him it would be two to three weeks before the swelling and damage would recede to a point to where an assessment can be made as to whether surgery will be required.

Consequently, and again, most regretfully, we have no choice but to postpone the upcoming CINDERELLA tour until such time as Tom is ready tour again."

LYNCH MOB and WARRANT had been scheduled as opening acts. Ticket refunds will be available at point of purchase.

<----Holy shit! That's a tough deal, man. I know Keifer has been battling vocal issues since the Still Climbing days, and has had to work really hard just to be able to tour. Bad for him, and it really puts Warrant and Lynch Mob in a bad spot too. I don't see why they couldn't continue on without Cinderella.

Tom's singing style can't make it any easier. You would think he'd blow his wad years ago after that much abuse.
Yeah, they could find a 3rd band to open and just bump the other two up.

According to a June 29th article in Monterrey, Mexico's El Norte newspaper, RATT cut their June 27th show in Monterrey short. Frontman Stephen Pearcy reportedly lost his balance and fell into the crowd. He was then helped back onstage by venue security, only to lose his balance again and fall over. He seemed to recover and managed to perform for close to an hour before the band put on the brakes and left the stage. They returned a short time later without Pearcy, with rhythm guitarist John Corabi (ex-MÖTLEY CRÜE) taking over lead vocals for 'Body Talk' and 'Round And Round'. He told the audience Pearcy's condition was "due to jetlag."
<----This guy has a habit of falling down and hurting himself. He's got a bad knee, caused by a fall down the steps of his own tour bus a few years ago. It couldn't be from all that jumping around on stage that he doesn't do.

According to Gnrdaily.com, Amazon.co.uk is now listing the release date of GUNS N' ROSES' Chinese Democracy as August 25th. It is worth noting that they have previously listed its availability as September 2007, February 2008, and December 2008. Because of this, it is hard to put any faith in these dates. Amazon only knows what they are told by the record companies.

Perhaps more promising though, is the fact that Amazon.com finally, for the first time ever, has a page for Chinese Democracy. Again, Amazon only knows what they are told by the record companies, but this one is worth putting stock in! Why? Never before has Amazon.com put up a Chinese Democracy page.
<----I heard one of the latest leaked tracks, and aside from running on too long, it was pretty good, and better than the version MB shared with us a year or so ago. Still, there's no way the damn thing could possibly be worth the wait.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A rape charge against Rikki Rockett has been dropped after authorities determined that the Poison drummer was not in the state at the time of the alleged crime.

Authorities say they are now looking for a man with a history of passing himself off as a rock musician to pick up women.

Rockett was accused of raping a woman at a central Mississippi casino in September 2007 and arrested in March. The Neshoba County district attorney's office confirmed Tuesday that the charges were dropped.

Rockett said he was in California when the rape was alleged.

"I was with my fiance watching her try on wedding dresses," Rockett said in a Tuesday phone interview with The Associated Press from Salt Lake City, where Poison is preparing to launch a 49-date tour. "We've got eyewitnesses to that."

Police arrested Rockett, whose real name is Richard Ream, at Los Angeles International Airport upon his return from a concert in New Zealand in March. The 46-year-old said he's never been arrested before and feared his reputation would be ruined.

"That is one word you don't want associated with your name," Rockett said. "Rape is right up there with murder and child molestation."

Authorities are now looking for John Minskoff, who authorities say has a history of passing himself off as a rock musician to pick up women. Messages left with the Neshoba County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday were not immediately returned.

Rockett held an exoneration benefit party on Saturday to raise money for Centurion Ministries, which aids those who have been wrongly convicted of crimes. He's now in Utah practicing with bandmates in preparation for the tour that starts Thursday.

The hair-metal act that scored hits in the '80s like "Talk Dirty To Me" and "Every Rose Has Its Thorn."

According to CTV.ca, two Oakland, Ontario police officers are being credited with saving the life of VAN HALEN's David Lee Roth.

Over a month ago, the rockstar was pulled over for speeding and told the officers he was having a medical emergency.

Roth was suffering an allergic reaction to nuts. The officers called an ambulance and kept the musician safe until help could arrive.
<-----Yeah, try that one next time you get pulled over for speeding! See how it works for you.
